Donor Portal Logins in the New Dashboard: How to View, Add, and Remove Access

Last updated: July 8, 2026

You can manage who has access to a supporter's Donor Portal directly from their Supporter Record. This is also how staff can view a supporter's portal as they see it — add your own email as a login, sign in to the portal, and remove your access when you're done.

Add a New Donor Portal Login

  1. Navigate to Supporters and open the specific Supporter Record.

  2. Click the ellipsis (⋯) menu in the top-right corner of the record.

  3. Select Add login.

  4. In the Add Login window, enter the new user's First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone.

  5. Click Save to give the new user access to that supporter's Donor Portal.

This is a great way to give a family member, assistant, or accountant secure access to manage a donor's giving history, preferences, or tax documents.

View Existing Donor Portal Logins

  1. In the Supporter Record, click the Portal tab.

  2. Scroll to the Logins section.

  3. You'll see every login with access to that supporter's Donor Portal, including the email, date created, and when it was last used.

  4. Click view all to open the full All Donor Logins table, pre-filtered to that supporter.

Remove a Donor Portal Login

  1. From the Logins section on the Portal tab, click view all to open the All Donor Logins table.

  2. Check the box next to the login you want to remove.

  3. Click Archive to remove that login's access to the Donor Portal.

Viewing the Portal as a Supporter (Staff Impersonation)

If you need to see exactly what a donor sees — for example, while helping them over the phone — you can temporarily add yourself as a login:

  1. Follow the Add a New Donor Portal Login steps above using your own name and phone number, but create a unique email using your email + the donor's name (e.g., to access John Smith's portal, help@wegive.com would enter help+johnsmith@wegive.com). If you use your plain email address and it's already tied to your own supporter record, signing in will land you on your own record instead of the donor's.

  2. Go to your organization's Donor Portal and sign in with that email. Emails sent to the plus address still arrive in your inbox, so the verification code comes to you — the donor won't receive any 2FA prompts.

  3. You'll see the supporter's portal view, including their giving history, recurring plans, and preferences. For security, you will not be able to see saved payment methods tied to the donor's own login.

  4. When you're finished, remove your login using the steps above. We recommend always removing your access once you're done for data cleanliness.
