Migrating from Stripo to BeeFree: What Happens to Your Existing Email Templates

Overview

WeGive has rolled out a new email editor, BeeFree, to all customers. BeeFree will become the only editor available when you create a new email or template. This guide explains exactly what's changing, what's staying the same, and what (if anything) you need to do.

The short version: your existing Stripo templates are safe and will keep working. Only new emails will be created in BeeFree.

What's changing

BeeFree will be the only editor available for creating new emails and templates in WeGive. When you click Create Email Message, BeeFree opens automatically — Stripo will no longer appear as an option.

We're making this change because BeeFree is faster, easier to use, and the editor we'll be investing in going forward. New content blocks, improved templates, and future enhancements will all be built into BeeFree.

What's NOT changing

Every email or template you've already built in Stripo will keep working exactly as it does today.

Specifically:

  • Existing Stripo templates remain available. You can find them in your email templates list just like always.

  • You can still edit them using Stripo. When you open a Stripo template, it will load in the Stripo editor — not BeeFree. Your formatting, content, and design will all be preserved.

  • You can still send emails from Stripo templates. Campaign sends, automated journeys, and triggered messages tied to existing Stripo templates will continue to work without any changes.

  • There is no forced migration. You don't need to recreate, convert, or rebuild any existing email. Nothing is being deleted.

What you need to do

For most customers, the answer is nothing. Your existing emails will keep running, and the next time you create a new email, BeeFree will open automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Will my existing Stripo emails stop sending? No. Every existing template, campaign, and automated email tied to a Stripo template will continue to send exactly as it does today. The cutover only affects the editor used when creating new emails.

Can I still edit my old Stripo templates after the switch? Yes. When you open an existing Stripo template, it will load in the Stripo editor and you can edit it just like before. The cutover hides Stripo from the create new flow, but it does not remove access to your existing Stripo content.

Will my Stripo templates be automatically converted to BeeFree? No. The two editors use different underlying file formats, and there is no automatic conversion. If you want a Stripo template recreated in BeeFree, you'll need to rebuild it manually in BeeFree. For most templates this is faster than people expect — BeeFree's drag-and-drop is more forgiving than Stripo's.

Should I rebuild my Stripo templates in BeeFree? Only if you want to. Your Stripo templates will keep working indefinitely, so there's no urgency. If you have templates you use frequently and want to take advantage of BeeFree's improvements, rebuilding them is a great option — but it's optional.

Is there a deadline to migrate my Stripo emails? There is no deadline. Existing Stripo templates will remain editable in Stripo for the foreseeable future. We will give plenty of notice if that ever changes.
